The disposable I.D. bracelet contains the patient’s data (surname, name, gender, date, place of birth), the nosological number (access I.D.), and the relevant bar code. It allows the immediate recognition of the patient by the operators before the execution of health services. The application is simple, and the bracelet is comfortable to wear and does not pinch the wrist. During the admission phase, the nurse informs the patient about the importance of the device in terms of safety and prints the bracelet. He or she verifies the data with the collaboration of the patient or the family members (in the case of an uncooperative, unconscious, or minor subject) and applies the bracelet to the wrist. The bracelet is removed only at the discharge of the patient and is therefore useful in hospitalization, in the operating room, in diagnostics, or in intensive care.
