Disposable medical aprons are garments that cover the clothes or the scrubs of the physician or healthcare provider during a procedure. The aprons are lightweight and comfortable to wear due to the presence of two ties that fasten around the waist and two ties that fasten around the neck. They also have elasticized knit cuffs that allow the gown to fit snugly over the operator. The size of the aprons allows for ample and effective coverage of the operator’s clothing. The fabric is water repellent and provides protection from biological fluids either from the patient or present in the room. They isolate and protect the operators from potential human or environmental sources of infection. All new aprons are completely aseptic. Once they have been used, they must be replaced because they have been in contact with a potentially infectious external environment, thus compromising their protective function.
